Anticipation is building ahead of the Summer Games in Paris, which kick off on Friday. Now, river cruise line AmaWaterways is getting in on the competitive action with a new Olympics-inspired contest for travel advisors.
This week, the company is rolling out “Cruise for Gold,” a new contest that will award gold, silver and bronze medals to three travel advisors.
In addition to the gold medal, the top-prize winner will get a luxury suite on AmaWaterways 12-day “Secrets of Egypt & the Nile River” cruise, departing between September 2024 and March 2025.
The silver medal winner will get a twin-balcony stateroom on any European river cruise from September 2024 to March 2025 (excluding Portugal). And the bronze medal winner will get a French balcony stateroom on any European itinerary from September 2024 to March 2025, (excluding Portugal).
All prizes are for a travel advisor and a guest.
“Over the coming weeks, the eyes of the world will be on France,” says Alex Pinelo, senior vice president of sales for AmaWaterways. “Every day, millions of people will be watching live streams from many parts of France, and this will undoubtedly bring the destination to the forefront of their minds. It’s not just Paris that will be hosting events. Bordeaux, Marseille and Lyon are all operating as Summer Games venues and will be in the spotlight too. The travel advisor community has a great opportunity to capitalize on France’s high profile and earn both great commissions and fabulous prizes.”
Travel advisors will automatically be entered to win every time they secure a new, fully deposited booking for any 2024 and 2025 France itinerary. Only bookings made between July 26 and September 8 will be eligible for the contest.
Winners will be announced on September 9 and will be selected at random.
AmaWaterways is making it easier for travel advisors to sell its eight France itineraries on five ships. The company has rolled out an array of marketing materials on the travel advisor portal, including a new video and additional social media Reels highlighting the line’s France river cruises. The company will also host a France-themed webinar on July 24.
