St. Kitts might not be the most well-known island in the Caribbean, but American Airlines is making it a priority.

American has decided to resume expanded service to St. Kitts. It will be for the remainder of this year and for 2025.

For 2024, American will operate two flights per day between Miami and St. Kitts December 7 and 14, and from December 19 through 31. Next year, the schedule calls for twice-daily flights from January 1 through April 3 and on Saturdays from April 5 to August 30.

The move is expected to be a big boost for tourism to St. Kitts.

Although Miami will be the focal point and the main airport for connectivity to the island, American will maintain Saturday service from Charlotte Douglas International Airport and John F Kennedy International Airport.

“We are thrilled to strengthen our partnership with American Airlines, which demonstrates their confidence in St. Kitts as a premier destination. This expanded flight schedule aligns perfectly with our efforts to increase visitor arrivals and boost our tourism economy,” said Marsha T. Henderson, Minister of Tourism, in a statement “With enhanced airlift, we can welcome more travelers, offering them the unique opportunity to experience both the tranquility and adventure that St. Kitts has to offer. Our collaboration with airline partners is essential for improving connectivity and ensuring that every visitor enjoys a seamless and unforgettable travel experience.”

Said Jose Maria Giraldo, Managing Director for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean for American: “American has a commitment with St. Kitts of more than 25 years and we are proud to serve as the largest U.S. airline operating in the island with service from our hubs in Miami, Charlotte and New York-JFK. This winter, we are excited to strengthen our connectivity between St. Kitts and American’s largest international gateway at Miami International Airport, increasing our seasonal operation by 40 percent when compared to the previous year.”

St. Kitts recently codified its commitment to sustainable tourism.
