Italian cruise line Costa Cruises is offering new family programming for those heading on its Mediterranean cruises, including more excursions designed specifically for families and onboard entertainment for every age category.
New family-specific shore excursions are now available in the ports of Savona, Genoa, Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples, Palermo and Cagliari in Italy; Barcelona and Valencia in Spain; and in Marseille in France.
The tour program offers two options: a family-style tour for parents and children aged 3 to 13, where they can enjoy age-appropriate activities together, such as an exploration of Palermo and its markets to find ingredients for the famous Sicilian dessert, cannolo. The tour ends with a cannolo cooking class in the ship’s food lab.
The second style of tour is for teens aged 14-17 years old. They can head off with Costa team members and other teen cruisers to enjoy supervised adventures like a photography tour of Marseille’s “street art,” or surfing and paddle-boarding on Cagliari’s scenic coastline.
Families can also enjoy expanded programming onboard the ships, too. The ships offer four dedicated kids clubs divided by age group, including the Squok Club (3-6 years old), the maxi club (7-11 years old), Teen Club Junior (12-14 years old) and Teen Club (15-17 years old).
Other activities include cooking classes, workshops, dance and group sports activities and more.
