The Dominican Republic Tourism Office launched a new winter advertising campaign this week, called “Change The Season,” encouraging U.S. travelers to experience the half-island nation’s endless summer weather.
According to the tourism office, 54 percent of all travelers to the Dominican Republic are from the United States. It’s also home to seven of the nation’s top ten busiest air routes.
“This campaign embodies the essence of our Caribbean paradise and our unwavering commitment to embracing travelers. It’s an invitation to escape winter and uncover the perpetual summer we provide,” said David Collado Morales, Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic.
“With more than half of tourists originating from the United States, we've tailored this campaign for our American friends. ‘Change The Season' is a testament to our commitment to providing an unforgettable experience in our Caribbean paradise," Morales continued.
Over seven million travelers have visited the Dominican Republic from January to August, 2023 — a 25 percent increase over the same period in 2022. The half-island nation predicts the end-of-year total to reach 10 million, a record far above 2019’s record total of 7.5 million.
