Expedia is hosting several events across the globe on May 1
to celebrate its Travel Agent Affiliate Program Partners (TAAP) for Global
Travel Advisor Day.
The events, which include breakfasts, lunches, and evening celebrations,
are being held in the United States, Mexico,
Brazil, Canada, the U.K.,
Switzerland and Italy, and mark the launch of many new products and an
expansion of services.
"Global Travel Advisor Day presents the ideal
opportunity for Expedia Group to show its appreciation for our travel advisors
across all markets,” Expedia TAAP Vice President Robin Lawther said.
“Today's announcement shows our commitment to support them
in a variety of new ways; improving our service offering so they can continue
to attract new customers and support existing ones through more personalized
services that better respond to their needs, while also creating a product that
allows them to more effectively manage their cash flow," Lawther continued.
Expansions to the TAAP Rewards Program Soon to Arrive
One of Expedia’s newest expanded programs is Expedia TAAP
Rewards, which will soon expand to Mexico and Canada due to its massive success
in the U.S. The soon-to-be-expanded program will reward advisors for booking
with Expedia's TAAP by offering reward points on bookings that can be exchanged
for items such as gift cards.
Expedia's Deferred Payments
Another of Expedia's expansions is deferred payments, which allow
both TAAP partners and agencies to pay later for lodging bookings. So far,
deferred payments have been highly successful, with over 16,000 agencies using
them.
Since its launch in 2021, it has expanded to 30 of 32
Expedia's TAAP markets, the newest of which are Brazil and China.
