Get to Know Intelliguide: Protecting Business Travelers For Over 20 Years

Intelliguide is a 24/7 news subscription service created over twenty years ago by TravelPulse's parent company, Northstar Travel Group, to protect business travelers abroad.

Intelliguide offers some of the most to-the-minute safety and security information impacting travelers, compiled by a dedicated team of researchers working around the clock to provide timely and relevant information from around the globe.

Reports and updates are completely personalized for specific trips, destinations and more, with an emphasis on “duty of care,” or the responsibility that companies and travel agencies have toward protecting their travelers. 

While Intelliguide was created with business travel in mind, the uncertain global landscape is growing caution among travel advisors and international leisure travelers, both of whom can also enjoy access to the Intelliguide service. Major travel management companies American Express Global Business Travel and BCD Travel recognize the value that Intelliguide can provide to both travel advisors and their clients. 

With an Intelliguide subscription, travel managers and advisors can easily tailor the types of notifications they’d like to receive, filter them by specific country location or type, such as weather or political unrest, and have them delivered to their inbox as the situations occur.

The alerts can also be sent to the business travelers themselves, ensuring that they can be aware of situations that may impact their travel, such as road closures, weather delays that impact their flights, potentially harmful civil demonstrations and more. 

Travelers with GoAlerts will also be able to personalize email alerts via country or region, urgency or via type, such as health alerts, weather alerts, transportation alerts or political unrest alerts. GoAlerts that are sent to the traveling client will see an alert with personalized branding for the travel advisor’s specific agency.

Intelliguide offers a selection of information such as worldwide risk assessments based on a 10-point safety scale, security information, etiquette information, visa and passport information and access to GoAlerts, the 24/7 email alert system. 

GoPNR & Self-Enrollment

GoPNR is an easy way that travel managers and advisors can add their bookings into the GoAlert system. All new bookings are sent to Northstar Media, and the GoAlert subscription is then built specifically for the new booking dates and destinations. 

The alerts can also be personalized to begin at any point before the trip starts to ensure any relevant safety and travel information that may impact the viability of the trip is shared, such as armed conflict in the destination or a weather disaster that grounds flights to that destination for the time being.

Additionally, travelers can enjoy receiving a Destination Report email, which is a quick guide to the destinations they’ll be visiting with topics such as risk factors, personal safety, destination-specific etiquette and political situations to ensure they are well prepared for their trip. 

For busy travel advisors who can’t always spend time sharing their new bookings with Northstar, Intelliguide also offers a self-enrollment option for travelers themselves. Advisors can simply share the information about Intelliguide and the clients can then create their own personalized subscription for a specific trip.

Travel Manager Reports

When an event that is expected to interrupt or impede travel occurs where a traveler or multiple travelers are located, travel managers and advisors are given an emailed report identifying all travelers located near the events. The email alert also provides an urgency level so advisors can understand how quickly they should be in contact with their travelers. 

For example, if an international border were to close in a destination that a business traveler was currently traveling in, a travel advisor would receive the notification with an urgent flag, and they would then begin the process of trying to get the business traveler out of that country before the borders closed. 

The GoBase Website

Once a traveler or travel advisor has access to Intelliguide’s services, they’ll also register for access to the GoBase website, which offers access to the same destination information and news alerts sent in the emails. Advisors and travelers can also search for specific destination information outside of their curated trip information through the website.

Travel advisors can also build a custom report and send it to clients, such as when planning a future trip. Advisors can also apply their own branding to the website, so when they and their clients login, they’ll enjoy a personalized display just for them. 

Taking Care of Travelers While Abroad

The world is a fast-changing environment where natural disasters, political unrest, armed conflict, strikes and other events can impact, harm or hinder a traveler while abroad.

Intelliguide ensures travel managers, advisors and their clients will be prepared, informed and able to solve potential problems as they occur.
