The summer travel season is just about to arrive and American Airlines is ready with new technology to get customers on their way faster and more efficiently along with continuing to deliver an industry-leading and safe operation.

According to American Airlines network and operations, the airline expects more than 72 million customers traveling between May 17 and September 3, 2024.

David Seymour, Chief Operating Officer said in a statement, “Thanks to the hard work of our team members, vendors and partners, American is ready for the summer travel season. We look forward to welcoming you aboard an American flight this summer.”

Summer by the numbers will include nearly 690,000 flights with more seats than any previous summer and 10 percent more departures than in summer 2023. This year’s travel season will include nearly 690,000 flights with July 7 anticipated to be the busiest day of the season with 6,540 flights and Memorial Day weekend (May 23-28) offering 36,000 flights and serving nearly 3.9 million customers.

Ten new American Airlines destinations will include Hyannis, Massachusetts (HYA), Pasco, Washington (PSC), Tijuana, Mexico (TIJ), Veracruz, Mexico (VER), Tulum, Mexico (TQO), Governor’s Harbour, Bahamas (GHB), Ocho Rios, Jamaica (OCJ) and in Europe: Copenhagen, Denmark (CPH), Naples, Italy (NAP) and Nice, France (NCE).
