Just the memories a picture can trigger or priceless. Not to mention the oohs and aahs uttered by friends and family. So as people are planning their 2025 vacations, and with Internet searches for bucket list destinations on the rise, Instagram has released a list of the trendiest cities for photos.
According to Instagram and European tour operator Titan Travel, they include: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Palma de Mallorca in Spain, Kyoto and Osaka in Japan, Rhodes in Greece, Istanbul NY, Orlando and Athens.
Dubai has been crowned the most picturesque city. The city, renowned for its luxury shopping, modern architecture, and the famous Burj Khalifa, saw its Instagram posts rise from 111.32 million in 2023 to nearly 124 million in 2024, marking its surge in popularity this year.
The United Arab Emirates capital of Abu Dhabi saw its Instagram presence grow from 23.89 million posts in 2023 to 26.22 million in 2024.
Central Park in New York City is the most popular landmark on Instagram. Japan, India and Canada rank as the top three most popular countries on social media with Japan receiving more than 185.5 million posts dedicated to travel.
