Sandos Caracol Eco Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico has finished the renovation of 336 Eco Collection rooms, offering three categories of accommodation options designed for families in mind, all with an eco-friendly approach.
The $20-million phased renovation mainly focused on offering three different family-style suites. Eco Family Superior rooms offer a king-size bed and lofted twin bunk beds, all in one room. There are 326 new rooms in this category following the latest renovation. Guests can enjoy a discounted stay between March 1 and December 19, 2024, with the code ECO24 when they book their stays through April 30.
Eco Family Suites offer a two-bedroom family-style accommodation with more privacy and room. It features an ensuite family space for bunk beds, along with an oversized bathroom with two showers, twin sinks and two toilets. The Family Suites also offer a private outdoor plunge pool.
Lastly, the renovation project added ten new Eco Family Penthouses, offering a master bedroom with a king-size bed, a separate pull-out couch living room with a queen-size bunk bed. The suite also comes with two bathrooms.
“We have always taken great pride in providing travelers with unique opportunities to experience our region’s rich culture and history while keeping our local ecosystems at the forefront to try our best to preserve the destination for future generations,” said Miguel Angel Guardado, General Manager of Sandos Caracol Eco Resort. “The new Eco Suites are truly the culmination of this mission – perfectly positioned alongside our onsite cenotes and mangrove river, created to comfortably accommodate families and groups of all shapes and sizes in rooms that harness a bit of the Mayan jungles’ wild beauty.”
The Eco Suites have sophisticated renewable energy sources and utilize an onsite water treatment plant to reduce the resort’s impact on the natural environment.
The resort, which offers 941 rooms, also announced the renovation of its restaurant, Riviera, in a new Bohemian French style. Its taco truck concept, Santo Taco, has also returned.
