With autumn now in
full swing, Spirit
Airlines is giving travelers a good excuse to take to the skies during the
off-peak shoulder season.
The low-cost
carrier is currently running deals on dozens of one-way fares to popular
destinations like New
York, Orlando,
Las
Vegas and more, with the vast majority priced at under $50.
The lowest price
TravelPulse found as part of the present Popular Flight
Deals promotions was from either Oakland or San Jose, California to Las
Vegas, Nevada for a rock-bottom cost of $21. Also tagged at under $30 are
tickets from Fort Lauderdale to Atlanta, Orlando to New York, Burbank to Las
Vegas and Dallas to Las Vegas.
Prospective passengers
will also find a range of routes available starting at $39 between several
major U.S. cities, including Detroit to Orlando, Philadelphia to Orlando,
Chicago to Las Vegas, Los Angeles to Dallas, Houston to Las Vegas and New York
to Fort Lauderdale.
At slightly higher,
but still extremely affordable price points are other desirable routes, such
as:
- Baltimore to
Orlando from $40
-
Detroit to Atlanta
from $44
-
Detroit to Houston
from $47
-
Los Angeles to New
York from $59
-
Orlando to San
Juan from $62
-
Detroit to Fort
Myers $64
According to Travel
+ Leisure, Spirit has also significantly discounted flights to popular Mexican
destinations on select travel dates. Bargains on available one-way
international routes include Chicago to Cancun
for $92 and Philadelphia to Cancun for $134.
Spirit’s website is
designed with a straightforward search function that enables customers to select
their home airport and desired destinations, and apply multiple filters,
including maximum budget, to find their ideal flight options.
Through a limited-time
promotion, the airline is also offering members of its “Free Spirit” loyalty
program double points on their bookings, as well as giving Gold-level members
free Wi-Fi access on flights.
Spirit recently
overhauled its previously bare-bones pricing structure and boarding procedures
in an effort to evolve with the times and improve business, as the airline has
been losing money despite the post-pandemic travel boom.
Whereas customers
previously paid a standard fare and then needed to spend extra for such
services as seat selection, checked and carry-on bags, onboard refreshments and
Wi-Fi, they can now opt for a few premium fare options that bundle such amenities
and even offer others like extra legroom, no middle seat and priority boarding.
