Turkey’s national
carrier, Turkish
Airlines, is set to revolutionize its in-flight experience with the
introduction of free, unlimited and fast Wi-Fi for all passengers. This
ambitious plan is slated to commence at the end of 2025 and aims to cover the
entire fleet within two years.
To realize this
vision, the airline will retrofit its current fleet with cutting-edge in-flight
connectivity (IFC) technologies and ensure that all new aircraft are equipped
with the most advanced IFC systems available.
This initiative will extend the
current IFC services, which are already available on most of its planes, to
every aircraft in the fleet, offering passengers uninterrupted and high-speed
internet access at no extra cost.
The integration of
these new IFC technologies is designed to meet the evolving digital consumption
needs of passengers. Turkish Airlines is actively seeking partnerships with
both local and international suppliers capable of delivering top-tier IFC solutions
for its entire fleet.
This includes support for Turkish companies developing connectivity
technologies. To this end, Turkish Airlines has signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with TCI Aircraft Interiors, a certified provider of
aviation products, and Turksat, a regional leader in satellite technologies.
The MoU signifies
Turkish Airlines' commitment to leveraging national capabilities and supporting
Turkish enterprises in establishing a foothold in the IFC sector.
Following requisite
feasibility studies, the involved parties aim to transform the MoU into a
definitive agreement. Turkish Airlines remains dedicated to enhancing passenger
experiences and moving the Turkish aviation industry forward.
