Turkish Airlines has confirmed that it will commence operations at John F. Kennedy International Airport’s (JFK) highly anticipated New Terminal One when it debuts in 2026. As part of the move, Turkish Airlines will introduce an expansive, cutting-edge lounge for its premium customers, further cementing its reputation for world-class service.
The next-generation New Terminal One, set to become the largest international terminal in the United States, is a key component of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's $19 billion overhaul of New York City’s JFK Airport. This dramatic transformation will include two new terminals, updating and expanding two existing terminals, a streamlined roadway network and a state-of-the-art ground transportation hub. The new facility is poised to redefine the passenger experience with top-tier amenities and innovative technology.
Currently operating 19 flights per week between JFK and Istanbul, Turkish Airlines connects passengers to an extensive global network spanning 351 destinations. The airline plans to enhance its service with an 11,000-square-foot lounge at the New Terminal One, doubling the size of its lounge at the existing Terminal 1. Designed to elevate the travel experience, the lounge will offer premium amenities, sweeping airfield views, and direct boarding access for business-class passengers and elite frequent flyers.
"We are thrilled to welcome Turkish Airlines to the New Terminal One at JFK, where their commitment to world-class customer service aligns perfectly with our mission to provide an unparalleled customer experience," said The New Terminal One’s Chief Executive Officer, Jennifer Aument. "We look forward to working closely with our colleagues at Turkish Airlines to elevate the travel experience for customers from 2026 and beyond."
"We are excited to bring Turkish Airlines' world-class service to the New Terminal One at JFK, further enhancing our passengers' travel experience with a state-of-the-art-lounge. This move underlines our commitment to continue our growth in the U.S market," said Turkish Airlines’ Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, Professor Ahmet Bolat .
Turkish Airlines will join other Star Alliance members at the new terminal, including LOT Polish Airlines, EVA Air and Air China. The terminal is also partnering with prominent global carriers like Air France, KLM, Korean Air, Etihad Airways, Air Serbia, SAS, Neos and Philippine Airlines.
The New Terminal One is dedicated to enhancing the customer experience through strategic partnerships with potential airline partners. By engaging with airline teams at every stage of the customer journey, the terminal aims to deliver seamless service. Once completed, it will stand as JFK Airport’s largest terminal, offering a premier travel experience and expanded gate capacity for widebody aircraft, creating a prime opportunity for international carriers to grow their operations at the leading global gateway to the United States.
