Viking’s newest Nile River ship, the Viking Sobek, will be ready five months early.
The new vessel had been scheduled to debut in 2025, but will now set sail in November 2024, according to a promotional email from Viking.
As such, the cruise line has announced new departures of its 12-day “Pharaohs & Pyramids” itinerary, which includes visits to the Great Pyramids, the great Sphinx and the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities.
Guests who book by April 30 can enjoy savings of up to $2,000 per couple, plus reduced international airfare and a $25 deposit. The deal applies to bookings on Viking Sobek for departures in November and December 2024, as well as January and February 2025
The 82-guest Viking Sobek is the sister ship to Viking Aton, Viking Hathor and Viking Osiris. By 2025, Viking will have six ships sailing in Egypt, a number that includes existing ships Viking Ra and MS Antares.
