New Orleans is a lively and progressive city where new developments are always underway to keep the city moving forward. For over 300 years, New Orleans has been a hub for rich culture, history, architecture, and unique attractions. With the addition of new and exciting things throughout the years, New Orleans is ready for the future.
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport
Known as one of the best airports in the country, the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is a $1 billion world-class terminal complex that is the first of its kind to be built in more than a decade. The 972,000-square foot terminal features three concourses, 35 gates, improved passenger experience, and a more consolidated checkpoint for ease and efficiency.
New Hotels
In New Orleans, hotels are more than where you park your suitcase – they’re a place to meet, eat, recharge, and get ideas about what to experience during your time in the city. New Orleans has more than 26,000 hotel rooms, most within a walkable 2-mile radius of downtown and the French Quarter.
The latest addition to the city’s incredible accommodations is Hotel Henrietta, a newly built 40-room boutique hotel that offers guests a more residential experience. Along with brand new developments, there are a handful of recently renovated hotels, such as the Rubenstein, Hampton Inn & Suites French Quarter Canal Street, and the Dew Drop Inn Hotel and Lounge.
Scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2024, Caesar’s Hotel will offer luxurious experiences with world-class amenities in a 340-room hotel tower located next to the recently reimagined casino. Also coming soon, the Fairmont Hotel will make its return to New Orleans with a projected opening date in the summer of 2025.

Now located just a few steps away, the insectarium includes a 264 square-foot motion reactive display wall that uses the latest technology to bring images of butterflies and lightning bugs to life!
There are a handful of other riverfront developments that are currently underway. The 39 acres of land adjacent to the New Orleans Convention Center is under construction for multiple mixed-use developments.
