Denmark
In 2024, Denmark beckons exploration of The Carlsberg City District, Copenhagen’s “newest” and “oldest” neighborhood rooted in the history of the iconic Carlsberg brewery, dating back to 1847. This vibrant neighborhood, adorned with restaurants, creative spaces, and hotels, becomes even more accessible with American Airlines' new direct route from Philadelphia to Copenhagen, offering daily departures from June to October 2024. Furthermore, Denmark's commitment to sustainability shines through with the introduction of two new electric ferries by Molslinjen in 2024, connecting regions like south Funen and the eco-friendly island of Samsø, renowned for its renewable energy initiatives and diverse offerings from white sandy beaches to cozy countryside inns to unforgettable gastronomy experiences.
Faroe Islands
In 2024, travelers to the Faroe Islands can embrace authentic local living at Hanusarstova, a restored cottage on the island of Eysturoy offering a genuine Faroese hospitality experience, known as Heimablídni. With homemade meals sourced from the farm and nearby village, the hosts and farmers, Harriet and John, provide a true taste of local life in this picturesque village just one hour’s drive from the capital, Tórshavn. For those seeking a touch of luxury, Hotel Føroyar is set to introduce its new spa, Ress Spa, in the latter half of the year. Perched above Tórshavn, this spa facility will offer indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, a rooftop pool, ice bath, and an outdoor jacuzzi, all while providing guests with breathtaking views of the city, ocean, and surrounding islands.

Greenland's Arctic lodges are also enhancing comfort by adapting to the seasons and local traditions, offering new experiences like Aurora Cabins and Igloo Lodges. Moreover, the introduction of spa and sauna amenities along the coastline, such as the one near the black beach in Disko Bay, complements adventurous activities with rejuvenating wellness attractions, making Greenland an ideal destination for fostering total mind-body wellbeing in 2024.
Iceland
In 2024, Iceland welcomes travelers with a strong focus on sustainable tourism, promoting environmental consciousness and advocating for slow exploration during the off-season. The country's commitment to carbon reduction and renewable energy is showcased through various geothermal-powered luxury spas peppered across the country, often in diverse locations with plenty of breathtaking views. For adventure-seekers, Kerlingarfjöll in the central highlands provides a unique experience, with the upcoming Highland Base Baths adding an extraordinary dimension to the exploration. Furthermore, Iceland's three national parks, including UNESCO World Heritage sites like Þingvellir and Vatnajökull, beckon visitors to soak up the country's stunning nature while adhering to the country's thoughtful guidelines for responsible travel.

In 2024, Norway invites travelers to explore its coastline sustainably with hybrid and electric ships on Hurtigruten or Havila, each providing unique coastal experiences that minimize environmental impact while supporting local economies. Further inland, The Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT), offer eco-friendly hiking cabins, often equipped with renewable energy sources, sustainable building materials and waste management practices that enable hikers to experience the country’s pristine wilderness in a sustainable way.
