Windstar Cruises’ newest ship, Star Seeker, has touched water for the first time.
The 224-guest ship has officially completed dry dock and has floated out of the building dock at the WestSEA Shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal.
Crews have finished work on the ship’s exterior and will now turn their attention toward its interiors, which includes 112 suites, five dining options, a full-service spa, a fitness facility and more.
Star Seeker is slated to join the Windstar fleet in December 2025. The vessel will sail from Málaga, Spain, to Miami, Florida, for a January 2026 christening ceremony. The ship will then offer voyages in the Caribbean before heading to Alaska and Japan.
Windstar will debut another new ship, Star Explorer, in December 2026.
“Seeing a ship come together and be at the point where she leaves dry dock for the sea is a memorable milestone in the life of a new build project,” says John Gunner, vice president of expansion projects for Windstar Cruises.
