In an exciting new expansion, Four Seasons has partnered with Paulson Puerto Rico to unveil a luxurious new property at Bahia Beach, Rio Grande. This upcoming opening will represent Four Seasons’ debut in Puerto Rico and mark the luxury hospitality brand’s continued growth in the Caribbean region.
Set to open in late 2025, the Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Puerto Rico will blend seamlessly with its lush surroundings, offering guests and residents a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the island’s natural beauty. The property, spanning 483 acres of verdant landscapes, will maintain its commitment to preserving the local environment while undergoing significant renovations to align with Four Seasons' high-end luxury standards.
"As one of the most sought-after travel destinations in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico is the perfect location to bring legendary Four Seasons service and experiences to locals, visitors and residents alike," said Bart Carnahan, President, Global Business Development, Portfolio Management and Residential, Four Seasons. "We are honored that our partners at Paulson Puerto Rico have chosen Four Seasons to usher such an exquisite beachfront property into its next chapter, introducing a new luxury lifestyle offering on the island."
"Puerto Rico is thriving as a luxury leisure destination for travellers and homeowners, and the entry of Four Seasons is a testament to the immense opportunities and bright future ahead," says John Paulson, Founder of Paulson & Co. "We are confident that our partnership with Four Seasons will deliver exceptional value to the island, and further elevate our resort and residences located in one of the most stunning and unique places in the world.
The reimagined resort and residences will feature 139 guest rooms and suites, alongside 85 Private Residences, with even more existing units set to join the residential portfolio when the property relaunches as a Four Seasons experience. Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Puerto Rico will be conveniently located about 30 minutes from San Juan's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport.
Renovations will include a complete overhaul of interiors led by acclaimed design firm Meyer Davis, known for its work on other Four Seasons properties in Athens, Costa Rica, Houston and San Francisco. The refreshed design will emphasize modern elegance while maintaining a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere, all with a sense of connection to the surrounding natural environment.
Key upgrades will include a striking new arrival experience with unobstructed ocean views, a revamped lobby designed for relaxation and connection, and reconfigured pools with enhanced ocean vistas and private cabanas. The spa facilities will also see significant enhancements, including the addition of a steam room, sauna and other new wellness experiences.
Guests and residents will have access to two miles of pristine white sand beaches, scenic walking trails, multiple pools, tennis courts and an 18-hole golf course, all of which boast incredible views of unique natural features like the ocean, lakes and rainforests. The property will also boast a variety of dining options, including a lobby lounge and bar, poolside grill, specialty restaurant and a new oceanside dining concept. Event spaces and state-of-the-art fitness facilities will complement the resort’s offerings.
Once completed, Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences Puerto Rico will join the brand’s prestigious Caribbean portfolio, which includes properties in Anguilla, The Bahamas and Nevis, as well as upcoming developments in Belize and the Dominican Republic.
