Leading travel technology provider Sabre Corporation has renewed its long-term distribution agreement with Delta Air Lines, providing Sabre-connected travel advisors with access to both EDIFACT and New Distribution Capability (NDC) content.
Delta announced it would begin testing a new NDC process in April. The airline was looking to move on from EDIFACT, but both will remain in use for travel advisors in the years to come, benefiting both corporate and independent travel advisors booking their clients’ flights.
"We are pleased to extend our full content agreement and value-based commercial model with Sabre," said Jeff Lobl, Managing Director, Distribution Strategy and Agency Sales Programs for Delta Air Lines. "We look forward to collaborating with Sabre to make Delta's NDC technology solution available to all Sabre-connected travel agents to ensure that our customers receive the best possible travel experience tailored to their needs."
In June, Sabre's executives provided an update on its recent innovations and partnerships, including a partnership with Google and the launch of Sabre Mosaic, a program for airline partners.
The news comes the same day as Delta Air Lines announced an upgraded SkyMiles membership program for business travelers, called Delta Business Traveler. The program offers a free trial to use Industrious’s global premium workspaces, additional miles earned with Delta Stays and car rentals and a complimentary Hertz Five Star status for six months.
