American Airlines and Sabre Corporation have announced the multi-year renewal of their technology partnership, including the provision of the SabreSonic Passenger Service System (PSS).

According to the Texas-based software and technology company, the partnership has been vital to the SabreSonic PSS, influencing innovations and features that benefit the entire airline industry, not only American. Highlights include intelligent seat re-accommodation, new capabilities in inventory and enhanced cabin functionality and rules.

American has also extended its subscription with Sabre PRISM, a corporate travel contract management solution.

"At American, our customers are at the center of each decision we make," Scott Laurence, Senior Vice President of Partnerships and Retailing at American Airlines, said in a statement. "American is focused on leveraging solutions, like SabreSonic, that meet the needs of our customers and our team, and we're pleased to extend our partnership with Sabre."

"American is a leader in the global airline space, and we are proud our solutions continue to meet and exceed its needs and expectations in the ever-evolving travel industry," added Roshan Mendis, Chief Commercial Officer, Sabre Travel Solutions. "American is one of our most valued customers. We look forward to this ongoing partnership and we are committed to supporting American's commercial and technology strategies and efforts to put customers' needs front and center."

Sabre renewed its long-term distribution agreement with Delta Air Lines earlier this year.
