Two giants of the planet: the Mexican Vidanta Group, an international leader in high-end hospitality, and Cirque du Soleil, the celebrated Canadian artistic group, decided 10 years ago to combine their enormous talent and experience to revolutionize the tourism and entertainment industry by launching the show Joyà at VidantaWorld Riviera Maya.
A theater was designed exclusively for this artistic experience, including a themed dinner with world-class cuisine and luxury service.
Today, after a decade of historical success, these two companies announce the arrival of LUDÕ, their second show, to premiere in autumn 2025. It is an impressive underwater show with a unique stage specially designed in the BON Luxury Theme Park of VidantaWorld Nuevo Vallarta.
"Just as we align ourselves with the best brands in the world of attractions, we are extremely proud to have the best entertainment brand in the world, which is Cirque du Soleil, with whom we are going to create completely new universes and present the most ambitious show they have ever created," said Iván Chávez, Executive Vice President of Grupo Vidanta.
He added that LUDÕ is designed to inspire and show the world that Mexico is a top destination and a leader in the future of entertainment. "We are beyond excited to invite the audience to experience this unparalleled experience through the water, creativity, and unlimited spirit of VidantaWorld."
Daniel Lamarre, Executive Vice President of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, said he is excited to expand his collaboration with Grupo Vidanta and invited fans worldwide to live this immersive experience. This innovative, uniquely designed theater provides the perfect canvas to showcase our boundless creativity. This new chapter celebrates our long-term collaboration and reaffirms our shared commitment to redefining the future of entertainment and luxury," he said.
Meanwhile, Michel Laprise, writer and director of Cirque du Soleil LUDÕ, commented that this show takes advantage of the infinite qualities of water, "a medium that captures memories, transcends gravity and allows us to create a dynamic and dreamlike journey like no other."
According to Iván Chávez, this new show will be the heart of Vidanta World’s BON Luxury Theme Park, which will be the most crucial tourist investment in Latin America, leading Mexico to compete with the most important amusement parks on the planet, and will have attractions developed by the best firms worldwide where experiences never before seen in Mexico will be presented.
"VidantaWorld is a new vision that will revolutionize the future of tourism in Mexico. It's an unprecedented concept, combining world-class entertainment, the breathtaking beauty of Mexico, and the unparalleled luxury of Vidanta, all in one unique experience. It will be the first global brand that integrates luxury, nature, beach, and entertainment in one place," said the entrepreneur.
Daniel Lamarre explained that Grupo Vidanta was the first consortium of resorts in the world with which they worked, and it meant a fantastic experience that gave them a lot of learning. He stressed that, in the past, only Vidanta members had access to a show like Joyà, and now they are opening it to the public with the Cirque du Soleil Package. "That's going to allow you, if you're not a member, to buy the Package and have the hotel, the experiences, and attend the show," he also stressed that this is the first time Cirque du Soleil has associated its brand with a vacation package.
This entrepreneur is convinced that this package will allow more tourists from North America to visit Grupo Vidanta's resorts. "It's a breakthrough in marketing because it will attract more customers from Canada and the United States. We are delighted to be associated with them. We feel that we are bringing a privilege that the customer never had before because some of them cannot afford to come to VidantaWorld, and now, with this package, they can do it."
To explain how they combine the show with gastronomy, Lamarre said that with Joyà, for example, they followed a process in which they learned a lot. "We wanted the food experience to be at the level of Cirque du Soleil's performance, so our creators collaborated with the chef to ensure it was. For the new show, our creator, Michel Laprise, came to spend a week with the chef to tell him how to have a meal in harmony with our performance."
LUDÕ fuses art and technology with water as the narrative force that leads the viewer to enjoy an immersive show celebrating the miracle of nature. It features stunning performances that blend strength and grace and dynamic group acts showcasing precision, teamwork, and rhythm. Interactive elements, including acrobatics on a net platform, invite guests to immerse themselves in the experience, making each moment an artistic tribute to the harmony of nature.
The theater will consist of 696 seats from which the spectator will be able to see passages in which the characters challenge gravity in a dreamlike environment where water is a crucial element, accompanied by state-of-the-art acoustics and avant-garde architecture. Anticipating high demand, VidantaWorld will offer exclusive vacation packages for LUDÕ that provide guests with a closer look into the artistry and technical innovation behind the show. Pre-sale sign-ups for dinner show tickets are now open at www.cirquedusoleil.com/ludo. Package info will become available in early 2025, with priority access for VidantaWorld newsletter subscribers starting in February.
Another element that joins these two experiences is VidantaWorld's ELEGANT Ultra Mega Yacht. This luxurious yacht allows its customers to explore the best destinations with the most sophisticated service in the industry. "It will be sailing in the Caribbean from February 22, and then it will go to the Mediterranean throughout Europe, and always, thanks to its exclusivity, it will have special access to ports," said Iván Chávez.
