Unruly behavior at airports and on airplanes sadly still make headlines.
Why does this continue to be such a problem for air travelers?
Last week, a brawl broke out on a British Airways flight that resulted in a delay, thereby ruining the travel experience for everyone. The reason for the fight? An argument over a passenger’s MAGA hat.
No matter what your political affiliation is, that is no reason to break out into a fight – especially on an airplane.
Why election season gets people so worked up is something that has always baffled me. But I digress.
Sadly, this wasn’t the only naughty passenger incident that took place last week.
A man assaulted a sleeping, deaf passenger on a plane – completely unprovoked.
The FAA has reported 1,200 unruly passenger incidents this year, which is significantly lower than the over 5,000 reports in 2021 during the mask mandate era.
That said, these issues shouldn’t be happening by the thousands.
The FAA has levied $20 million in fines since the pandemic. An outrageous total.
Passengers need to learn to behave themselves on planes.
Will these numbers continue to decline into 2025? I certainly hope so, and I know I’m not the only one.
